The Making of…

My absolute love for animals has always been a running theme in my life, starting with my first bunny and first pony at the age of 5, and my focus only got stronger with age. It tracks that the only jobs I have ever had have been in the pet industry. PetSupermarket, PetSmart Banfield, Petco, Pet Paradise, Wag and Fetch! have all been a part of my life at some point or another. I went to the only college in the area that specializes in animal studies where I custom made a degree based solely off of what I needed. I took my degree in Animal Science and Equine Business back home to Chapel Hill where I opened up a personal, professional pet sitting business called J’s Luv ‘n Care. It ran strong for 5 years, even developing into a doggy daycare that eventually offered sleepovers. Eventually, it was time to move out and hand the house back over to my parents.

Fur Your Convenience

I am now settled in Hampstead and while re-designing my house into a dogs paradise, I worked at a few horse barns. Being around the giant animals reminded me of how deep my passion for all things equine runs and I ended up purchasing my first yearling, Pretzel.

With horses now solely as a hobby, I can turn my full focus back to the career that fills my soul: bringing peace of mind to all pet parents by providing the most honest, professional yet personal care. My goal is to make having a pet more convenient, more fun and to live the best life possible.

Highlights

Formally Educated

Jenna attended St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC to personally create an Interdisciplinary Studies Degree in Animal Science and Equine Business. Her thesis and final presentation focused on the importance of personalized pet sitting for senior dogs.

Decades of Experience

Managing pet stores, working at corporate and private boarding kennels/daycares as well as veterinary hospitals (both small animal and equine) provided access to a wealth of knowledge. All of this combined is what gives Jenna a very unique advantage in handling any situation.

Proven Success

J’s Luv ‘n Care started as a pet sitting and dog walking business before turning into a successful doggy daycare and boarding facility. Her expert health and behavior knowledge even helped several families to lead healthier, happier, more fulfilled lives with their dogs!

Years of watching packs of dogs interact, meeting hundreds of individuals along the way combined with an intense drive for knowledge of how they think allowed her to develop the skills to help families understand and communicate better with their four legged roommates, leading to stronger relationships and more harmonious lives.
